BMW CIC Carplay Android Auto 2008 – 2013 Integration with optical audio connection

The Carplay MMi for the BMW CIC system is the highest quality product and the only one on the market that uses a MOST connector (fibre optic cable) to transmit the audio, keeping the sound quality unchanged.

BMW Carplay MMi uses the original monitor so that the original BMW look is maintained. The device menu is controlled using the original system controls – dial and steering wheel switches – so the original BMW driving experience is maintained. BMW Carplay CIC (for system) is fully integrated with the original BMW parking systems – the device will automatically switch to the rear camera or parking sensors when reversing and switch off when shifting. The BMW Carplay wiring harness is connected to the original connectors, so there is no need to cut and solder any connections. The Carplay CIC add-on is fully ready to use and requires no additional programming.

Warning! If the car does not have a CD changer, the CDC function must be activated by software (the CD changer itself is not required).

If the car have a CD changer, it will no longer be available. An optical loop will be connected to it which will allow the original sound of the audio system to be maintained.

Attention! You will not be able to listen to FM radio and use Apple Carplay or Android Auto simultaneously. The system is designed so that when you switch the original picture, the audio channel automatically switches. We suggest you listen to the radio online via the Tune-in app.

Wireless Apple Carplay function works with all Apple iPhone software versions from iOS 10+.

Wireless Android Auto function works with most Android phones software versions from 10+.  Older Android versions connects only with USB cable! Attention! Huawei phones with Android 10 (EMUI10) software system, Android Auto works ONLY with cable.
